REBORNING

What is reborning?

reborn

/riːˈbɔːn/

adjective

A reborn doll is an art doll created from a manufactured doll or kit that has been transformed by an artist to resemble a human infant with as much realism as possible. The process of creating a reborn doll is referred to as reborning and the doll artists are referred to as reborners.[1][2] Reborn dolls are also known as lifelike dolls or reborn baby dolls.

Little Legacy kits and the Reborning Process

Each kit begins with a beautiful clay sculpt. Days and weeks of meticulous attention to detail, perfecting each baby as an individual with a unique expression to ensure they’re so real from every angle. The head, limbs and tummy or body plate is then carefully fired before the moulds are expertly made.

The moulds then create the individual kit parts. The German vinyl that creates the kits is of the highest quality and has been softened via a special process to make SilkSoft vinyl so they feel beautiful and real. Gorgeously soft German Ultrasuede cloth doll bodies are also made in skin tones to blend with the vinyl to ensure a completely realistic reborn.

The kits, sold via our handpicked worldwide distributors, can then be reborn into babies that look so amazingly lifelike. Layers of paint washes are used to create glowing skin, little details like painted blemishes, freckles and tiny nails add even more realism. Each kit has been made to make the process of reborning so enjoyable, even for the beginner, with little creases and fine features that just come alive.

Glass eyes are added to the awake babies and hair can either be individually rooted or painted or even a combination of both.
